It was a very good tour!

Dont' know the meaning of the sculpture (the prone head looks ominous), but it lent an artistic touch to this Leipzig- yellow courtyard wall.

Elaine Gutcher (alto) and three Chorale friends (Brian Gutcher, Celia Walker and Carole Oldemeyer) enjoy the ambiance of Liepzig at the Coffee Baum, the cafe that Robert Schumann frequented.
TRIVIA QUESTION!!
How did Johann Sebastian Bach die?
"A stroke" you might say. And that may be true. But there is also evidence that a few months before he died, attempting to improve his weakened vision, he had a newly discovered surgery to remove cataracts. Afterward, he developed a bad infection and his stroke followed soon after that. Too bad he didn't have a Health Care Exchange to compare doctors...
More to that.... Wagner also had diminishing vision, heard about this surgery, and, under the care of the same eye doctor, had the same surgery. He too developed post-surgical infection and died soon after.
INTERESTING.....maybe next time |
Our Tour guide's bag. We THINK it might say "I love Polish Music!" We do too. |

Given this blog is nearly five years old, I have no idea if you'll see this comment, but I'm an old friend of Elaine Gutcher's (pictured a couple times in this entry), and would love to get back in contact with her. She was in our wedding, and we'll be in Denver for a week this summer - it would be amazing to get together and catch up on things.
